Darknight These guys only do brutal hardcore sludgy metal. Like listening to a grenade going off in your ears and then sticking rusty nails into the holes of the remains of what were your eardrums. Favorite track: Vermin.

Master of Alchemy Hitherto, NAILS have exclusively been the only hardcore band that I listen to (which is strange given the levels of rage and contempt within my black and empty heart), and I really didn't expect to come across another hardcore band of such calibre. As with Nails, Mastiff have a depth and nuance to their vocals and sound (with a sprinkling of Slayer) which sets them apart from their peers. In a rabid frenzy, they sink their teeth in and never let go until your throat has been torn out! Favorite track: Black Death.

OldShockGraphics I've had this on twice a day for a week straight now. So fucking good. even more impressive considering it was recorded live as one takes.

This one really goes deep. Tremendously heavy and bleak, yet crushingly groovy as well. You can easily see these guys destroying any venue they'd hit live with this. The heavy hitting slow to mid-tempo tunes are sort of tranceinducing. It's very easy to listen to it multiple times in a row or even get lost in it totally. mourner

Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max.
